Pros
  • Benefits
  • Pay
  • Senior Management
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Opportunity for growth
Cons
  • Office Politics
  • Peers who are less qualified may get promoted first because they talk the talk (but can't back it).
  • New in role ETLs are expected to perform at a very high level too fast. There is nothing wrong with high expectations; just make them attainable.
  • Business college was not very beneficial.
  • Cutting payroll: Why can I cut from the sales floor but not production or backroom? Those areas need to learn how to work with less, just like the rest of the store.
Advice to Management

It would be beneficial to realize that leaders come in all forms. Look at the quiet leaders; they usually speak less, but what they say is pretty powerful. Think about the quality of the words versus the quantity of the words.
