Target is fast, fun, and friendly (or FFF, as they say). The culture is the strongest I've ever experienced at a company. It absorbs you and can dominate your life, but you won't mind because Target is world-class and you're part of something great. After some time, you can't imagine working anywhere else.
Your experience at a large company like Target is what you make it. Target is the kind of place where you really need to take charge and seek out opportunities to be involved in exciting new things. You need to be somewhat extroverted (or fake it), great at networking, and know your trade. You might not want to work there if that's not you.
Applied to a Women in Tech Symposium with Target. Then Target flew us out to Minneapolis to explore HQ and facilities, and was given a one-on-one interview with a current software engineer at Target.
The interview was set up for five hours. This included one hour with separate individuals and another hour with a different person for lunch (on their dime). I was given the names of all the interviewers ahead of time.
I had to wait for a while in the reception area of the corporate headquarters, then go through security and be escorted upstairs by the interviewer. Everything was very formal, and I was informed that there was a strict dress code. I got the impress
