The overall company culture seems focused on inclusivity and diversity, which I think is good.
Some nice perks, like the team member discount, are also present.
The people tend to not seem super motivated. The team I was on didn't feel like it had much urgency for anything it worked on, and there was a lack of passion.
Besides this, tech felt tangential to the entire operation, but I think that's inescapable as a retail company.
The review process was really bad in my opinion; we got very little feedback, and the scale used is insufficient. From talking with coworkers, I learned that nobody ever gets 'exceeds expectations,' which removes a lot of motivation to really try hard. Guess that explains why people would call it a day for happy hour consistently at 3 PM.
Create a better framework to evaluate employees' performance, and make sure that there are some clear deadlines set for product owners.
It wouldn't hurt to get people a bit more hyped about working there, too. Maybe some more perks would be nice (e.g., provide K-cups for the Keurig, etc.).
I met recruiters at a career fair at the university and gave them my resume. They contacted me for an on-campus interview where they asked me behavioral questions. Later, they flew me out to Minneapolis where I had two interviews with engineers. Af
A few hours of 30-minute interviews were conducted. Most were one-on-one, with one technical review of a challenge. You get it all done at once, and it's great. It was one of the best interviewing experiences I've had.
Easy interview. Great interaction with everyone involved in interviewing. Constant feedback and updates from the recruiter. I had 4 rounds in total. Technical rounds were a bit tough, but just like any other software engineering interview.
