In one word: Disrespectful.
I had a phone interview with the hiring manager. Partway through, he said he had heard enough and wanted to bring me on-site. The recruiter took a long time to get back to me. I eventually scheduled an on-site interview and provided multiple days that worked for me; Tesla chose the one furthest away.
I prepared a presentation that I was asked to give, filled out the application, and booked a hotel, flight, and rental car. I also let my current employer know that I would be out that day.
Two days before the interview, I received an email stating they wanted to postpone it. A few days later, I found out they had offered the position to someone else and didn't give me an opportunity to interview.
Be wary. I have interviewed at many different companies and have almost always received an offer. This was by far the most disrespectful company I have ever dealt with during the hiring process.
