Mechanical Design Internship Interview Experience - Germany

Process

In total, there were three stages in the interview process.

The first stage was talking with HR. That was great. The HR not only asked for personal information but also provided some key points that must be paid attention to. She also highlighted the long working hours and the company spirit of "Change the World." The first stage lasted for 30 minutes.

The second stage was to talk with two senior employees. The duration was around 1 hour. This stage was quite stressful, as they asked for many details about my previous experience in the first 40 minutes. Then, we moved on to technical questions, such as the stress distribution of a cantilever beam, which required a lot of preparation. I felt I "screwed up," but I received good feedback from the interviewers and an invitation to the next stage the next day.

However, the following week, TESLA announced a massive layoff, and I had yet to receive any information about the final stage to talk with the hiring manager.

Then, I received a rejection letter after one month. When I followed up with HR via email, she had also been dismissed.
