Pros

You'll learn a lot and can end up on projects where you're really forced to develop quickly.

It's risky, but if you manage it well, you can move up quickly.

Cons

It can take a toll on your personal health if you're not careful to prioritize good exercise and diet. Tight deadlines and high-pressure projects also have a tendency to bring out the negative morale in teams, which can have a spiraling effect.

Advice to Management

Spend the time to scope out projects well ahead of time. If ever in doubt, make sure you've included all disciplines in the definition stage of a project for input. Keep a keen eye on team morale as things move from design to execution.
