Pros

Great benefits and profit sharing, fast-paced, challenging work.

Cons

Software technologies used at TI (i.e., TI AutoShell) are not 'standard,' so the skills gained are not transferable.

I have heard, however, that Java was in consideration to replace TI AutoShell.

Factory automation is important, but be aware that if the fab becomes 100% automated, there will be a very reduced need for software engineers, so expect a reduction in staff in that case.

Advice to Management

Establish a mentoring program to assist employees new to the company and industry.
