Pros

Nothing. Sweat shop, politics, favoritism.

Cons

It was the worst decision of my career to join Home Depot as a Software Engineer. The technical leadership here is bullying and uses all means to pressure you. There is clear favoritism in promotions and growth in the team. I've seen people promoted based on loyalty and not based on the value they add to the team. As a result, you will see many incompetent, undeserving people up in the hierarchy. The misery does not stop here; if you raise concerns against these issues, then you are painted as a villain across the organization, making sure that your movement across teams is stopped, so you are basically stuck in a team.

Advice to Management

Don't treat technical resources as slaves.
