Cons

Sometimes manager/director levels lean too much on "self-organizing teams" and abdicate themselves of responsibility.

There's a desire to standardize things but also give engineering teams autonomy; it's frustrating being caught in the middle.

Advice to Management

You need some technical leadership that spans teams, that can decisively set the course with regards to standardization and experimentation.
