First interview with PRC. I was asked about generic management strategies and skills. The conversation was in Mandarin.

The next day, I received an invitation for a second interview with another PRC. This was more of a technical session with simple questions, which I answered swiftly. The conversation was also in Mandarin.

Following week, I received an invitation for a third interview, which I actually wanted to decline. My gut sense told me this was just a standard operating procedure interview, and TikTok wasn't sincere about hiring local talent. However, they are pretty good actors, trying to act cool and chill during interviews.

Then, HR and the whole of TikTok just vanished into thin air. A completely different attitude compared to when they try to lure candidates to fill local quotas.

Advice to talented locals from Singapore: Entertain TikTok if you have spare time. Do not apply specifically to attend interviews; you don't even need to prepare anything. Do not have high expectations of getting hired.

I strongly believe they had already secured PRC candidates to fill the positions and were spending their luxury time mass interviewing local candidates and failing them.
