Process

I applied online via LinkedIn. The complete interview process took 5-6 weeks. I interviewed at trivago in November 2016. The process was divided into three phases:

  1. Skype interview: This was conducted by an HR representative and a team lead (from the team you will join). During the Skype interview, they asked typical questions such as "Tell me about yourself?" and about the different projects mentioned on your CV. They will also provide information about trivago and the team.

  2. Case study: This involved a small task related to the job responsibilities. You need to complete and submit the case study within 7 days. They liked my case study and invited me for an onsite interview in Düsseldorf.

  3. Onsite interview: This had two parts: a technical interview and an HR interview. Each round lasted approximately 1.5 hours. The technical interview covered basic Java concepts, such as the difference between JRE and JDK, garbage collection, exceptions, and OOPS concepts. The HR interview focused on behavioral questions.
