Software Engineer Interview Experience - Hamburg, Germany

Process

First, I was asked if I could accept a lower amount of money because my salary expectation was a bit higher than what they could offer. We then settled on the salary.

I was asked to complete an assessment about parsing hotel data and was given one week. I completed the assessment in a way I had never written or seen before; it was exceptionally easy to read, very well designed, commented, and documented. I concentrated on these aspects because they stated they were more interested in code quality.

However, a few days after I submitted my solution, I was told that I was not among the selected candidates and that they would not be making any comments about the submissions.

If someone spends time on another's code and tries to understand it, I think writing a few comments about it shouldn't be that difficult.
