Process
About two weeks after I applied with the resume on the site, they asked me to complete a case study and send it back to them. This was a pretty basic PHP project, and I think they were evaluating attention to design, testing, and some basic data structures.
About two weeks after that, we had a Skype interview, with mostly basic technical questions.
A month after that, came an interview locally at their office in Düsseldorf. It was a pretty thorough marathon of interviews, actually. First, I met with their tech manager for an hour about general technical and HR-ish questions. After that, I spent two hours in a technical session with a couple of developers, going deeper into theoretical knowledge (PHP, JavaScript, SQL, infrastructure such as caching, tools, virtualization, etc.). We also wrote some code (basic algorithms) and designed a system on paper (designing classes to control an elevator system).
Questions
How should you go about finding a bottleneck at a page on your site (e.g., one taking too long to load)? Then, if it's the database, how to solve that.

I think the people in the company should initiate an employers' association to assure salary increases that guarantee at least the inflation rate in the country. Don't waste your time here if you want to build a good career. Every day is important for your career.
