Pay is above industry baseline, but if converting to hourly, it may not be worthy.
The manager will micro-control every minute of your daily time spent. It’s not a safe environment to give out opinions and suggestions. Even taking a vacation will impact your performance review.
TSMC is building a fab in the USA, but 95% of the managers are local Taiwanese. All of them have been influenced by military-like culture for more than 10 years. Most of them refuse to adopt US culture because that is not how they reached their high-level positions. It will require more US managers to build a fusion culture.
