Process

Everything started with a message on LinkedIn.

And then it went like this:

  • A call with HR (~30 minutes). This briefly covered the company itself, their requirements for the open position, my current situation, and why I was there.
  • An easy-to-medium HackerRank challenge (up to 3 hours). This included an algorithmic coding challenge (LeetCode easy), a SQL query challenge (an easy one), and a couple of open design questions.
  • A call with the hiring manager (~60 minutes). This in-depth discussion covered the company's requirements for the role and went through my previous experience with a focus on soft skills.
  • A virtual onsite, consisting of 6 sessions grouped into 3 consecutive days, with 2 back-to-back 60-minute calls per day. This thoroughly reviewed all my past experience and covered many topics, including but not limited to team collaboration, technologies used, tech stacks I'm familiar with, Scrum processes, system design, algorithm problem-solving (LeetCode easy), and company values.

I didn't get the offer, but the cherry on top of the interview process pie was the feedback session with HR, offering an honest and transparent explanation for why it didn't work out at that time.

Overall, it was an amazingly professional recruitment process with extremely professional interviewers, making it the number one on the list of my potential next places to work.
