A recruiter reached out regarding a typical software engineering interview.
The first stage was a technical phone screen. Although I struggled a bit at first, I was able to arrive at a perfectly working, optimal solution within 45 minutes.
Having participated in many interviews (both as an interviewer and interviewee), it's easy to tell if an interview went well or poorly. I had a feeling this one went well.
However, I received a rejection with a very generic template and zero feedback or personal touch. It felt as though I was treated as a test subject or a data point.
When I asked for feedback, they ghosted me. Just a single sentence about the interview would have gone a long way.
I will never respond to this company again. Thanks for wasting my time.
