Software Engineer Interview Experience - Amsterdam, Netherlands

Process

The application was forwarded between three different recruiters before the initial call. I proceeded to a frontend interview, where the interviewers were React developers. I am a React developer, yet they required me to use vanilla JavaScript, akin to how it was used in 2010. The recruiter did not prepare me for this; I expected a LeetCode-style challenge or a React-specific assessment.

It is unclear why a candidate would be tested on something they never claimed to have experience in, something the company does not even use, and without prior preparation.

Overall, this was the worst recruiting experience I have had so far and a complete waste of time.
