I applied for a Front-End interview, but the interview was very general.

The whole process, both pre and post interview, seemed very unorganized.
Questions
Write an algorithm which checks for cyclical dependencies in a graph.
Design an object store system like S3.
Design the OOP code for Minesweeper.
Design a Google search string parser.

Pros: Challenging problems to solve, smartest coworkers in the business, beautiful office space.
Lots to keep an engineer busy, as evident by the growing number of 4+ year employees (only a 5-year-old company!).
Cons: Lots of work, passionate coworkers, and tireless management lead to work-life balance difficulties. Luckily, most days, being in the office with coworkers is more stress-relieving than holing up in a coffee shop to work by yourself.

Pros: Great pay with smart teammates if you're in the right organization. There is still a hint of the old engineering culture, but many have since left.
Cons: Lots of dishonest middle management and empire building. Lots of engineers who are overpaid to know nothing but copy-paste code.
Uber is a political organization, not an engineering one. You do not work here to learn or advance your career. You come here to pretend to do work.
