Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California
Process
An Uber recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn with a personalized email.
I then completed a recruiter phone screen, followed by a technical phone screen.
The following week, I came in for a full day of interviews.
I had to code an Android app during the interview, which was pretty cool and I believe a good test of my engineering skills.
Everyone was super friendly, and I got to eat lunch with one of the Android teams.
I had a great experience.
After the interview, the recruiter stayed in contact and worked with me to accept my offer.
I returned to Uber to meet with several teams and engineers to answer my questions about culture and just hang out.

Many problems the company faces can only be solved by a combination of technology and people. For example, how can we help concert-goers get to and from Coachella? The solution involved both product and operations teams. Even as an engineer, I'm learning a lot about business just by following what our city teams and leadership do.Cons: Uber faces stiff competition in Asia. The company moves extremely fast to get ahead, which means the work is more challenging than at your typical Silicon Valley tech company.
