Cleared all the rounds but didn't receive the offer due to the company's miscommunication and internal blunder.

There were 4 rounds in total. The rounds were good; the questions were interesting and the interviewers carried it well. It was more of a conversation-based interview, and I was comfortable throughout.

I cleared all these rounds. The recruiter informed me that the next steps would be on the offer processing and asked about my salary expectations. Later, I was also informed about some complication with the position that I applied for and that some process was being initiated to open a new position to accommodate me. I was okay to wait and, in the meantime, I set my salary expectations.

After a few days, the recruiter called and informed me of the final offer and asked if it was fine to proceed. I was immediately okay with it. They asked about my joining date, and that the offer letter would be released in the upcoming days.

Minutes after this, I received another call from the recruiter saying that a new position was approved for a Software Engineer role only and not for a Senior Software Engineer. Therefore, the earlier discussed compensation is not applicable for this role, and they won't be able to go ahead with the offer. And that's it.
