They can fire you at any time, as the C-suite is a bunch of jokers sitting with the trigger in hand. They make wrong decisions and fire the ICs when times get rough. Politics are all around.
Trust your working ICs, not your bootlicking managers. You cannot get work done when all you have is managers. Fire the C-suite if you can.
