People just go around in circles within the different groups in the company since there are not many opportunities within the company. Also not many product-company-based opportunities within the Reston, VA area, hence people don't leave Verisign but feel "stuck" in their careers.
More aggressive investment is needed to fuel growth. The company needs to take more risks. The legal team seems to run the company. Once a proposal goes into the legal "black hole", nothing comes out of it; it just delays everything and dampens the enthusiasm to try new things.
