WFH, nice people to work with.
Briefly, the atmosphere is that of a sinking ship. Poor business decisions were made by the C-level management. Too much effort was put into B2B while content creators, who are the base customers of the company, were left abandoned.
The CEO is a big hypocrite. She doesn't care for her employees while trying to show she does. She also makes poor business decisions, especially when she implemented a business model that would only work in a "Covid world." This caused a second round of massive layoffs earlier this year, and it's definitely not the last one.
No surprise the stock has plummeted by 95% and is not showing signs of recovering. The CTO doesn't know what he is doing and doesn't know how to handle the massive tech debt. Every time someone is facing him with that, he has a different excuse why we shouldn't handle it.
Most of the engineers I'm talking to are looking for a new job (same as me) because it looks like the third and fourth rounds of layoffs are right around the corner. This is not the right time to start working for Vimeo because you'll probably be looking for a new job soon.
Going for the easy ways, like B2B, isn't always the right business solution. Sometimes, good old hard work with the product pays off. The hypocrisy shows; try to be a little more sincere with your employees. Most of us are seeing this, and we talk about it within the team.
First is the telephone screening. Then, two questions that feel like LeetCode Easy in the first round. I did not get past this stage afterwards, so I can't say what's next.
I was contacted on LinkedIn, had a phone interview, they flew me to NY for my in-person interview, and I was made an offer. They then paid for me to relocate.
Applied online, got a call from a recruiter the next day, and the interview was scheduled. Round 1: DS/Algo Advanced DSA topics, min-heap, max-heap, and graph questions. 20 minutes went into project descriptions. The interviewer wanted me to code
