Pros

Salary and benefits. Globally recognized brand. There are still some devoted and knowledgeable people, but they are disappearing fast, along with morale from the people who are still there.

Cons

Inflexible and unforgiving management cultivates an environment of fear rather than creative problem resolution and innovative thinking.

Promotions are not aligned with knowledge, skill sets, and experience.

Doers used to be recognized and rewarded in the old days, but talkers are recognized and rewarded in the present day.

There is no longer a focus on customer satisfaction, technology innovation, or employee engagement or development.

Advice to Management

Reduction of redundant middle and senior management.

Bring back innovation and encourage new ideas from everyone in the company.

Value and reward those who are truly knowledgeable, go-getters, and dedicated, not members of the "good old boys" club.

Put focus back on customer satisfaction and employee engagement and development. Your people--motivated people--are your most valuable asset.
