Process

My former colleague referred me for the position. The recruiter reached out to me with quick screening questions and fast enough to set up my first technical challenge with a senior technical person on the team. This was followed by a 1-day onsite interview from 1 PM to 5 PM, where I met almost the whole team I would be working with. Every interview was 45-50 minutes long with no planned breaks in between. Make sure to have a heavy meal before you come in for the onsite interview. I was supposed to meet their hiring manager first and then with four other engineers. The hiring manager sent a substitute, which I am not sure how to react to.

Questions

During Phone screen 1: I was asked about converting a string into CamelCase.

Onsite interview:

  1. How do HTTP and HTTPS work?
  2. What is a man-in-the-middle attack?
  3. How do you know at the server level if a request is coming from a mobile device or the server?
  4. Explain Akamai logic if you know of anything.
  5. Flatten the given array (except objects of key-value pairs, which should be pushed as is).
  6. Design a question on Canvas.
  7. Explain SEO strategy.
  8. What have you done to improve performance?
  9. What backend languages are you comfortable with?
  10. Can you write a palindrome program in PHP? (Since I said PHP is a language I have worked on in the past)
  11. What is the difference between a method and a function?
  12. Calculate the amount of water held between any two rows and sum it up.
