Process

I received a call from HR, and the interview was scheduled for one whole day.

Due to COVID times, the entire interview process was conducted virtually over Zoom video calls with screen sharing.

The opening was for a UI/Javascript Developer.

There were a total of 4 rounds scheduled on the same day.

Round 1: DS & Algo - 1 Hour

  • Started with an array-based question.
  • Linked list-based question.
  • BST and graph traversals.
  • All questions asked focused on best time & space complexity.
  • Implement getElementById.

Round 2: UI and JS Round - 1.5 Hours

  • JS timer events and intervals.
  • JS single-threaded architecture and event loops.
  • Array-based question.
  • React virtual DOM internals.
  • How to handle memory leaks.
  • Promise-based question and how to implement a timeout feature for async calls.
  • Implement a Redux-like global store (implement Pub/Sub pattern and explain Flex architecture).
  • Flatten a deeply nested object into a 1D object with '_'.
  • Disadvantages of using closures.

Round 3: System Design - 1 Hour

  • One puzzle was asked: the 3-box with apple/orange puzzle.
  • Design an online game platform for Dart. It must support single and multi-user functionality.

Round 4: HM Round - 1 Hour

  • More about my projects and career interests.
  • Detailed discussions on my Git projects.
  • Managerial questions on code review, teamwork, deployment, deliverables, deadlines, etc.

One and a half weeks after my interview, I received a call from HR asking for HR round discussions. A week later, after HR discussions, the offer letter was released.

The interview process was very smooth and great. Thanks and kudos to the HR team and panelists for handling it very nicely during this pandemic situation.
