Process

A third-party recruiting company reached out to me regarding a position at Walmart in Canada. I informed them that I already had an offer and was in the final stages with other companies. I also stated my minimum salary requirement to move forward.

They responded positively, expressing excitement to proceed after reviewing my CV. I passed the first interview round and had the manager interview scheduled before my last technical interview.

During the manager interview, the interviewer was about 10 minutes late. He then proceeded to ask personal questions, such as my current salary, which companies I was interviewing with, and the offers I had received. I declined to provide this information.

Following my refusal, he informed me that they were actually looking for a contractor, not a full-time employee for the senior role. He also stated that they believed I didn't qualify for a staff position due to not having over 10 years of experience (even before the interview concluded) and that they could not match my current offer.

I refused to proceed with the final round and ended the conversation. It was a pretty bad experience with a manager who wasted my time.
