E-commerce and catalog team. A bit earlier, but no option to specify. The team was really solid. We got there through an acquisition, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of tech and the amount of challenges. Good to have the resources of Walmart behind the work. A lot better than startup life!
A lot of legacy to deal with.
Stores' catalog was not suitable for using directly on the web.
These days, LLMs can do wonders, I bet. But back then, product descriptions were a challenge.
Some teams rely heavily on consultants, which works for IT but doesn't work for real product development with real IP.
