Pros

Smart people, latest technology. I've worked here many years, and Walmart really invests the time and money to stay current.

You will learn a ton if you work here.

Cons

Benefits changed this year to a mandatory curve. There's a very real chance that even if you perform well and meet your goals, you may not receive your bonus or RSUs. The targets you must meet are not defined and mainly have to do with extra credit, popularity, or Indian nepotism. So, only work here if you have negotiated a good base salary upfront.

Advice to Management

With this new incentive downgrade, the company pay for engineering will be below market rate for about 15% or more of the company. It pits team members against each other because if you do well, then someone must necessarily fail, and you'll probably know them. The only recourse is to leave the company, which is a shame because up until now, it had been one of the better ones.
