No Pros for Contract Employees
I worked with Walmart IDC as a contractor for 3 years. They treated contractors, especially from small companies, like slaves. This included managers, FTEs, and even the IT Help Department.
I was handed over a 12-year-old laptop without any power backup and a non-functional keypad. Whenever I went to the IT Help department, the first question they asked was whether I was an FTE or a contractor. When I told them I was a contractor, they would say, "Come tomorrow." This would repeat every day.
I was not invited to a single meeting in 3 years, only given orders. I was insulted by Walmart Full-Time Employees and Walmart Managers on several occasions. I requested them to give me a chance to work on the technologies they were working on and got answers like, "Mind your own business."
I approached my Walmart leads and managers to absorb me in the company, as I had 14 years of prior technical experience in Retail, Ecommerce, and Order Management domains. My leads and managers told me, "We'll not be able to absorb you even if your performance is extremely good and even if you work as a contractor for us for 20 years." But at the same time, they did absorb some contractors who belonged to their community.
There was way too much discrimination against contract employees. The only emails I received were from my Walmart lead, who treated me like his personal slave for three years and offloaded all the dirty support to me, even though my designation was Technical Architect.
If I tried to give them any opinion, the manager would reply, saying, "We can't listen to any Tom, Dick, or Harry. Keep your opinion with yourself. Do only what you are told to do."
None. Management is too corrupt to listen to even full-time employee's advice. Why would they listen to a contract employee's advice?
Test followed by 4 rounds of interview. Test conducted on HackerEarth (MCQ + 2 coding questions). * First interview separates candidates with computer science backgrounds. * Second interview focuses on resume projects. * Last round was HR.
I had taken an interview one month back. The process went well. The interviewer asked me about things on my resume and related to my projects. Topics included: * Automation testing * Why I wanted to join Walmart
I received a call from one of the recruiters at Walmart. After reaching the office, I was asked to wait for some time. The interview started after a 20-minute wait. The interview began with questions on React, JavaScript, and concluded with HTML/CS
