Process
The interview process is very straightforward, and recruiters are very good at following up immediately. A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn.
Later, I scheduled the Karat interview. Once I completed the Karat interview, I was scheduled for the final interview.
Questions
Karat Interview:
- 20 minutes of System Design.
- 40 minutes for Coding Exercise.
- Problem: A 2D matrix with 0s and 1s. A snake must find a path to the end, where 1 represents a wall and 0 represents an open path. The interviewer provided an extension related to DFS after the initial problem was solved.
Final Interview (4 rounds):
- Coding Round: LeetCode medium (Wayfair tagged problem). Expect an extension.
- System Design: TinyURL, but be prepared for scaling and caching questions.
- Object-Oriented Design/Data Model: Automated Parking Lot.
- Behavioral: Be ready with STAR Method answers.

Pros: Great managers in my org. Great teammates with little turnover for many years.
Cons: Constant reorgs, lots of bureaucracy, very difficult to move upward in level.
They require you to have the skills and do the work of the level above you for an entire year before you will be considered for a promotion to that level.
