Senior iOS Developer Interview Experience

Process

I was contacted by Wayfair through LinkedIn. I initially spoke with a recruiter and had a 45-minute phone interview. The questions asked were basic and focused on an overview of my background and current experience; there weren't many technical questions.

After speaking with the recruiter, I was scheduled for a phone interview with the Mobile Team Lead. This interview also took 45 minutes and covered the basics of iOS development. We went into some of the more complex parts of Objective-C and iOS, but getting into those areas was prompted by my explanation of the work I had been doing.

The interview was going well. While I was going through my list of questions for the interviewer, I must have hit a limit. The interviewer glossed over my questions, then stated that my experience didn't match and that they would call me back if something opened in the future.

I found this to be poor interviewing and it leaves me less inclined to interview for a position at Wayfair in the future.

Questions

Nothing too difficult or unexpected. The questions didn't cover anything too technical.
