The interview took place in four stages:
Initial Phone Screen: The recruiter will ask questions about your experience, what you're looking for in a company, and your personal attributes (e.g., self-starter, critical thinker, good collaborator).
At the end of this stage, you will receive a link to a code-sharing application for an overnight challenge.
Overnight Challenge:
The overnight coding challenge involved a "vector of a vector" question. Specifically, it asked how many possible combinations exist for a two-dimensional array like [[], []].
Live Code: This session will be with an engineer. They will first discuss the coding challenge, so be prepared to explain your approach.
Following that, you will be presented with a block of PHP code. Don't be intimidated; it's more manageable than often portrayed. Go through it line by line, slowly and deliberately, to understand its logic.
The engineer will then ask you to identify two bugs within the code.
After the PHP walkthrough, you will answer one basic live coding question.
Final Culture Phone Screen: This screen will cover similar topics to the initial phone screen, with the addition of more detailed questions such as, "Describe a difficult situation you were in and how you handled it." Provide as much descriptive detail as possible.
