Pros

Wells starts team members out with a good starting salary, but is not good about giving raises, even for good performers.

Overall benefit package is okay. Health, dental, short-term disability, and vision are average.

The company does value diversity and inclusion, and is committed to being an employer of choice in many D&I aspects.

Cons

Massive amounts of administrative overhead that cost, decrease productivity, and add no value to the end product.

Very resistant to change.

Process for the sake of process is valued over actual results.

Directly addressing concerns with other staff is frowned upon; instead, you're supposed to escalate matters through levels of leadership to get items resolved.

You will be scolded for not following procedure, even when said procedure is not documented anywhere and was never explained to you.

Team members seem to assume every other IT shop works as Wells does, uses the same technologies, has the same development practices, etc., so they have an expectation you'll understand their ways from day one.

If you want training beyond what's mandated for compliance reasons, you'll probably have to pay for it out of your own pocket and complete it on your own time.

No 401(k) match for new employees.

Long-term disability coverage is sub-standard.

They charge a monthly fee to administer Health Savings Accounts for employees.

They say they provide free parking, but the employee lots are often not accessible due to problems with the gates not working. You should plan to pay for parking at a city ramp at least 3-5 times per month.

Other than free coffee, there are no amenities offered for downtown workers. Workers in the suburbs have significantly better workspaces, amenity programs, and office locations.
