Too large, too siloed

Pros: Lots of opportunities to move and grow.
Decent benefits.
Some very smart people work here.
Hysterical laughter about the bureaucratic nonsense.
Cons: The Wachovia merger wreaks havoc.
Contractors are treated much better than full-time employees.
They keep saying "One Wells," but Home Mortgage is a completely differently run unit. It's almost impossible to get anything done there.

Pros: There are some good co-workers to work with, both locally and offsite. You receive 25 days of PTO to start, which is really great.
Cons: Management seems unfocused and wandering, and too concerned with the power politics of those above them. We seem to constantly be in a firefighting mode instead of a planned direction.

It was a good place to work

Pros: The company treated its employees well.
They gave generous benefits, vacation time, with extra hours off to work as a volunteer.
Cons: I felt overworked, and there was not a good work-life balance promoted by management. Repeated questions about promotion possibilities went unanswered for over 3 years.
