Once you are in an area of work, it is extremely difficult to move into other areas of the bank.
Education means very little to the company, even though they have tuition reimbursement up to $5k a year, and some jobs see certain degrees "as a plus" (which does very little for job placement).
Move employees around and hire within prior to laying off and placing people on the streets, changing the lives of employees and their families. Stop the "friend helping friends" approach and start hiring the most qualified within.
