It was a good company. Now it's behaving like a service-based company. If you are a high-tech person, go for it. If not, avoid

Pros
  1. Facilities like free cab and an excellent gym.
  2. Team engagement activities.
  3. Vast opportunities if you wish to explore new, cutting-edge technologies. Wells has a T-hub (Technology Hub) dedicated for this.
  4. The majority of US counterparts are good and supportive.
  5. Shifts are available to choose. However, if you fall under the responsible persons category, like team lead and above, then even if you work in the morning shift (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM), you need to log back in after reaching home to attend the daily status calls.
  6. Good compared to service-based companies.
  7. Seminars similar to TEDx are conducted at the Wells level.
  8. Hackathons are conducted, and team members are heavily encouraged to participate.
  9. Wells has a Runners and Riders club which sponsors a few employees to participate in city marathons. They even have their own 10K walk once a year.
Cons
  1. Over the past few years, middle and higher-level managers have changed, and the new managers are implementing cost-cutting methods. As a result, employees lost many privileges, like hikes limited to once a year, reduced hike percentages, and the removal of a few recognition awards. You now have to choose between parking or a free cab.

  2. Also, each team member is expected to show money saved at their level in one form or another. This affects performance ratings and hike percentages.

  3. Even though we have a lot of pros here, when your manager suffocates you to show some money saved, I don't think we can showcase our full capability or enjoy the pros.

  4. Frequent organization-level changes are happening. Again, this is a result of the management changes that happened over the last two years.

  5. Work-from-home facilities are now limited to five days. And you shouldn't take your laptop outside the city.

  6. Management is very strict with LOP. They try all their rules to not approve the loss of pay. HR is supportive of management. I have seen many female employees who had to return from ML after getting their LOP rejected.

  7. Job security has lessened.

Advice to Management

Please go back to the real product-based model.

We need encouragement and support to excel. We don't want to be pressured.
