This could be an option if the salary proposition is high enough.
The interview process:
- Phone call with recruiter (~30 min).
- System design (it was an ordinary iOS tech interview). On that call, the interviewer, in general, asked only a few questions. The rest of the interview was spent discussing a tremendous amount of bugs in the iOS app.
- Software design (it was a coding interview; design and implement an analog clock within the given assets).
- Product design (discussed high-level things, e.g., how would you show 1k items).
- Get at least 3 recommendations from ex-colleagues.
- Culture fit with CEO/Founders (IMHO, at this level of company size, that was weird).
As a result, after the call with the CEO/Founders, I was rejected with no explanation at all. The recruiter only mentioned that they didn't like me 🤯

- Design and implement an analog clock (create a new project and implement a working solution in 45 minutes)

Cons: It can be everything all at once at times, but this is easily better than the overwrought planning processes and top-down control you normally experience in other technology companies.

Pros: Working with great people for the same goal to change e-commerce through livestream shopping. It's a challenging but fun experience. There are a lot of benefits and fun events, like team/company offsites.
Cons: We all move pretty fast here, so timelines are often pretty aggressive, but it's the reason for the hyper-growth and the huge potential ahead of us.

Pros: No two days are alike at Whatnot, but every day I work with a world-class team delivering value to our customers daily. The work is nuanced and interesting – I rarely get bored here.
I deliver meaningful work, and it's used by thousands of people daily. People are what makes Whatnot; everyone here is super skilled, friendly, and focused on a common goal. It's a great pleasure to work with a sense of community.
I feel rewarded for working here – generous benefits and PTO, training budget, and frequent company offsites.
Cons: I wouldn't say it's a con per se, but this is a fast-paced environment where you're expected to deliver often. You might struggle if you are a perfectionist or don't like that kind of environment.
