The team itself was nice, and the interviews were fair. I was excited to possibly work there after meeting everyone and being told by the hiring manager and recruiter that the team enjoyed talking with me. They sold me on the position and strung me along past 6 rounds:
They provided positive feedback at every stage, hinting that they would make an offer. I received an email just before Thanksgiving telling me that, despite all the positive feedback, a candidate who was ahead of me accepted an offer they had extended. This offer must have been outstanding while I was interviewing with the VP and hiring manager, and even when they decided to proceed to those last two interviews. Instead of being transparent about another candidate having an offer, they had me go through those final interviews and provided false hope. I even canceled some other interviews ahead of the holidays, thinking this role was a great fit for me. Usually, companies are transparent about such things, so that's a bit of a red flag.
