Pros: It’s still Day 1. No shortage of things to build that immediately drive impact and lasting change for the company and the community that relies on what we create. Huge opportunity and responsibility to make social commerce work. Continued year-on-year growth. Incredible talent that sharpens one’s own skills, pushing beyond what is possible. Still learning and growing after 2 years; still expect to for many more.

Cons: There’s always opportunity to disconnect, but it’s hard nonetheless. Live shopping doesn’t sleep.

Pros: The company stays true to its culture while also focusing on progressing the business forward. They are cognizant of work/life balance and usually do a good job ensuring their employees get to work on projects that are fulfilling to them, but making sure not to overwork them.

Cons: Things change a lot. It's a "con" in the sense that it can add stress, but it is also something that should be expected at a company of this stage. If you're someone who can do their job well when given varying circumstances, this "con" won't affect you much. Also, there is a lot of talent at Whatnot, which can often cause imposter syndrome to set in or make you feel like you need to prove yourself.

Pros: Work hard, great engineering culture. Incredibly smart and competent people, but friendly and non-intimidating. Quarterly team offsites and biannual company offsites balance the loneliness of remote work.

Cons: Remote-first can feel a bit lonely at times. Nobody really goes to the offices in NYC, LA, or SF.
