Associate Software Engineer Interview Experience - Pleasanton, California
Process
I had never heard of Workday before they came to my campus job fair. I received an email from them for an on-campus interview with a hiring manager. Shortly after, I was invited to an on-site interview.
You will be interviewed by six different people, but only three of them are technical. These interviews are very straightforward if you know your stuff.
The other three are behavioral interviews, designed to assess how well you will fit within the company.
Overall, the experience was wonderful, and I didn't feel much pressure at all.
You'll be hired for sure if one of your interviewers approaches you at a social event and talks with you more about your experiences.

Although others are saying the culture is deteriorating, it is still very good. Work-life balance is great, and business prospects look good overall.Cons: What a lot of people don't see is that the hiring bar is getting lower and lower because the company is trying to expand. Quality over quantity should be the mindset in recruiting. As a new grad, I've seen extremely brilliant (and friendly) people get rejected from this company, and not-so-brilliant people get in, which astounds me. Salary is a huge issue. Everyone knows Workday does not pay enough, probably 15k under the market for new grads alone. If we want Workday's engineering reputation to increase, you cannot continue paying people so little. You are giving the truly talented engineers fewer reasons to choose Workday over other companies.
