I left with the impression that I had performed very well in the interview, as the manager mentioned I would be receiving the next round of interviews soon. However, four days later, I received an email stating I had not been selected to continue.

I feel misled and that my time was wasted. Be cautious and do not trust everything that is said during the interview.
