Software Application Developer Interview Experience

Process

The software developer role includes two live interviews.

The first is a technical interview where you will present a UML diagram and be asked to make improvements to it. I highly recommend communicating your thoughts clearly to ensure the assumptions you make are valid.

Note that the software development intern role is entirely different and uses the traditional data structures and algorithms whiteboard coding interview as the technical round.

Both roles use a behavioral interview for the second round. The bar for this interview was very low. If you passed the first interview and did not lie on your resume, this one will likely be a piece of cake.

I suspect that Workday does not know how to manage its interview process. The response time for emails is fairly slow in comparison to other companies, and they take a while to schedule interviews for upcoming applicants. Although I sent my applications out in the same general timeframe, I have already received six internship offers from other companies. I highly recommend Workday identify bottlenecks in its system and optimize it. They are losing top talent to competitors.
