Pros: Big challenges and big ambitions - before the Microsoft deal came crashing down. The engineering problems are hard, and Yahoo! is still a place where the sheer number of users means that all problems have scale implications rarely found elsewhere. The culture was fun and irreverent. Smart engineers building good software. There was a healthy relationship with India offices. There was reasonable handling of companies that were acquired - except Overture, which should have been cleaned up nearly as soon as it was bought.

Cons: The Matrix organizational structure killed the ability to move or make decisions. Senior management was often a joke, both in terms of seniority and management capability.

Pros: Good benefits and great people.

Cons: Management is always changing directions and could use a more updated technology stack.
