Pros: Yandex has many strong engineers and a rich history of technological development. There are several important technological aspects that you can read about online from other people. Many people say that NIH syndrome is common in Yandex, but this is only 0.05% true because very few companies operate on the scale of Yandex in Russia (and rarely even in the world). This is the main reason why publicly available technologies are not suitable; they just don’t scale to the required level. The second aspect is serious technologies that appeared a long time ago, when there were no technologies accepted as standard in the industry. Some of the technologies are old, but they work. This can be mistakenly called legacy and associated with the fact that the company is developing slowly technologically and it is difficult to write code. This is not true again. Yandex has one of the most developed development cultures with very accessible and understandable rules, not the most complex tools, and all company code is publicly available to all developers.

Cons: In 2022 and 2023, Yandex paid its employees significantly higher than the market average. This position makes it difficult to move to another company for new experience, even to a European or Asian company.

Pros: Cool office! Cool opportunities! Cool laptop!

Cons: For me, it was a little bit boring.

Pros: a Russian multinational technology company; one of the leaders in IT.

Cons: Super competitive to get there.
