Software Developer Interview Experience - Moscow, Russia

Process

First, there was an online form, mostly describing my sphere of interests, education, and experience. Then, there was a call from a recruiter to arrange interview details and to get my CV and a direct link to my LinkedIn profile. Following that, there was a Skype call with a technical engineer. The Skype call was not specific to any available position at Yandex; the aim was to check my general knowledge of C++, algorithms, parallel programming, and networks.

During the interview, I had to both answer questions and solve a short, simple quiz in a text editor. The engineer gave small hints and answered all my questions in detail. He also provided relevant feedback at the end of the interview. I did not proceed to the next stage of the process due to a lack of knowledge in parallel programming, but both the engineer and the recruiter encouraged me to apply again in some time.
