I applied online and received a call from a technical recruiter.
I was then given a coding exercise to complete at home and submit. The questions were pretty simple, as mentioned by another person here:
I completed the exercise, including JUnit test cases covering all possible scenarios I could think of, and submitted it early the next morning.
After a day, I received an email stating they would not be moving forward with my application. When I asked for feedback, I was told it was based on my coding exercise.
I am surprised by this, as my code was working, fulfilled the requirements, was well-tested, and well-documented (in my opinion). The only conclusion I can draw is that they were conducting some sort of lottery to select candidates for the next round of interviews.
