Software Engineer (New College Grad) Interview Experience - Burnaby, Canada

Process

The recruiting process began with an online assessment, followed by a recruiter call.

Next, there was a video interview, which is where I was ultimately rejected.

The recruiting process was quite fast, and the recruiter was friendly and responsive.

The video interviewer was adequate. He wasn't rude, but he kept getting distracted by something else during the interview and behaved at the end as if he would never see me again.

The recruiter sent me a rejection email after two weeks. She might have been on vacation or waited until they completed the video interview process; whatever the reason.

One thing I cannot understand is the title of the position. I was told I would work on automation scripts and test frameworks, which sounds more like an SDET role rather than an SDE.

It's advisable to clarify what you will be doing exactly.
