Senior Systems Engineer

A-TEK Inc., a leading provider of digital innovation and IT services, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team in a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD. The role involves providing expert-level systems engineering, operations, and modernization support for a hybrid infrastructure environment serving over 3,000 client end users. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing networked systems, servers, cloud platforms, and storage environments. The position requires deep technical expertise in enterprise infrastructure components including Windows/Linux servers, VMware environments, and storage platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise server administration and system integration, along with strong knowledge of enterprise tools and protocols. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, Application Development, and Cybersecurity to ensure system integrity and drive modernization initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned systems engineer looking to make an impact in the federal space. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $150,000 to $170,000 based on experience and certifications. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 2 clearance and involves hybrid work arrangements at the Bethesda location.

Key technical areas include VMware (vSphere, vCenter), hyper-converged infrastructure, SAN/NAS storage management, and enterprise protocols. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership. Preferred certifications include MCSE, Azure Administrator, AWS SysOps Administrator, and various security certifications.
