Description For Senior RL/ML Software Engineer

Applied Intuition, a leading vehicle intelligence company, is seeking a Senior RL/ML Software Engineer to join their EpiSci team. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge reinforcement learning and machine learning solutions for national security applications. The position combines advanced AI research with practical implementation in autonomous systems.

The role involves working on sophisticated projects including unmanned aerial vehicle control, multi-agent systems, and tactical autonomy solutions. You'll be developing novel model-based reinforcement learning algorithms, implementing state-of-the-art estimation and adaptive control algorithms, and creating simulated models for tactical military missions.

The ideal candidate will have advanced education in machine learning/reinforcement learning, strong programming skills in C++ and Python, and experience with containerized development environments. The position requires hands-on experience with behavior prediction, intent estimation, and taking autonomy capabilities from concept to deployment.

Responsibilities For Senior RL/ML Software Engineer

  • Develop novel model-based reinforcement learning algorithms for multi-agent systems
  • Integrate and deploy algorithms for integration and field testing events
  • Write autonomy software that operates group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)
  • Create simulated models to accomplish tactical military missions
  • Design models that use techniques from adaptive control theory and estimation

Requirements For Senior RL/ML Software Engineer

Python
  • Master's or PhD degree in machine learning/reinforcement learning with autonomy and robotics applications or closely related field
  • Experience developing model-based and model-free reinforcement learning algorithms
  • Hands-on experience with behavior prediction, intent estimation and behavior prediction
  • Experience taking new autonomy capabilities from ideation through fielding
  • Experience developing in Docker and containerized development environments
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, and Python, Linux-based operating systems
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
